Andy Walker is the Technical Editor and Co-Author of the best-selling Haynes Manual on Home Insulation.
Andy also ran the SURE Insulation Community Interest Company in West Yorkshire for four years which successfully installed Super-Insulation in many local homes (including at least one member of CAM!)
This inspiring and at times humorous talk will present a host of straightforward ways to significantly improve the warmth in your home – without it costing the earth.
Encouragement was provided to ‘Do It Yourself’ – with guidance
from a free downloadable booklet.
This booklet was produced for a Housing Association and covers a
wide range of techniques for improving insulation and airtightness.
‘House Warming Parties’ were encouraged, where groups of friends have a tailored workshop to start the project to insulate one of their homes.
After the workshop the group of friends will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to work on each other’s homes.
And for those people who’d like to run their own company to insulate houses – there were some ideas about how one could be set up in an easy way.
